“Why is He Still Alive?” came out Feb 5th, 2005, and likely should have been titled, “Why Does He Have an Agent?”  I’m not sure what it is, but there is something oddly fascinating about The Shore.  Son In Law, Bio-Dome, In the Army Now, Jury Duty… all outrageously bad movies, but at the same time, highly addictive and even enjoyable.  I don’t get it.  Maybe Pauley Shore is an acquired taste… like cigarettes and bird’s nest soup.  It’s hard to say.  I can’t imagine someone having listened to what Pauley calls his standup routine and thinking, “I could make a killing booking this guy!”  Sort of like investing in junk bonds I guess.  My theory is Pauley Shore is a Jedi master and Jedi Mind Tricks his way into movie roles.  (A skill he likely picked up from Keanu Reeves, the poster child for horrible actors in leading roles they don’t deserve.)
