Okay, so has anyone else ever noticed that the least tolerant folks in the world are the exact people screaming at the top of their lungs about how we all need to be more tolerant? Seriously. I have heard so-called peace loving leftist types yammer on about how racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, etc the average American is, only to turn around and talk about how much they “can’t stand”/”hate” intolerant people, and how “stupid” and “close-minded” “people like that” are, and yadda yadda. Jeepers golly! That sounds like intolerance to me! Personally, I just don’t care who you are, who you hate, who you bang, who you hang out with, who you don’t hang out with, or why you do any of it. Whether or not that makes me tolerant, I don’t know, but it does make me more tolerant than 95% of the people who voted for Obama… I think the thing that I find the most striking about the modern day hippie is for all the effort spent on trying to make “she” the new gender-neutral pronoun of choice, and all the time spent trying to shove gay marriage down everyone’s throats, and all the talk about acceptance of people for who they are, and all the fuss about embracing body-types of all shapes and forms, and screaming and preaching about respecting individual lifestyles in general, is the absolute bullshit that is the anti-smoking crusade. Behind white, non-poor, Christian males, smoker-bashing seems to be the most readily accepted double standard put forth by the left, and I just don’t get it. It smacks of hypocrisy, and while I don’t smoke OR endorse smoking, it pisses me off that the crusade against smokers is embraced by the same group of people who call me a racist because I didn’t vote for Obama. I'm done. |
