I don’t have much to say here, other than to say I have never seen a family on vacation where at least one child didn’t look like he wanted to hang himself after strangling both parents. The idea of forcing a kid to have fun has never made any sense to me. Parents aren’t the only ones guilty of this, either. At freshman orientation for college we had “mandatory fun night”. It was at mandatory fun night I earned a new-found appreciation for school shooters. Class field-trips were always miserable. Another vivid nightmare from my past involved a “fun-filled” outing to Medieval Times – the place that doesn’t allow forks and has livestock running around pooping while you try to eat. I actually got in trouble for working on my homework instead of “having fun”. |
