Northerners mock us, Texans, for pulling out our coats when the thermostat dips below 70.  Fine.  But do they realize how absurd they sound complaining about the 85 degree heat?  To be fair, I keep my apartment at about 68 and have seriously contemplated renting both a northern and a southern hemisphere apartment to avoid summers altogether. 

In other news, wtf is the retail world thinking?  Christmas decorations are up and heavy, wool lined trench coats are for sale at major retail outlets.  I get that people buy that shit before the cold hits, but in the big D we wear shorts clear through October.  The good news is there are several good deals on shorts and swimsuits right now.
